Marija D. Ilic

Dr. Marija Ilic is a recognized expert in power systems analysis, especially in the areas of security maintenance and voltage control. Her recent research has focused on operational control and pricing of transmission services in a competitive electric power market. She is currently a Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering and Engineering & Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. She has been a Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT since 1987. Her interest is in control and design of large-scale systems. She conducts research and teaches graduate courses in the area of electric power systems. Dr. Ilic is a consultant for Alfatech, Inc. and the California ISO. She is also an IEEE Fellow and Distinguished Lecturer. She has co-authored several books on the subject of large-scale electric power systems.

Ibrahim Abou Faycal

Dr. Abou Faycal is a member of the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems and lecturer in the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT. His research interests include information theory, coding theory and mobile radio communication. Prior to joining MIT, Dr. Faycal was with the research team of Vanu Inc. in Cambridge, MA. Dr. Faycal received his "Ingenieur des Arts et Manufactures" and MS in 1996 from "Ecole Centrale Paris" and MIT respectively. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT in 2000.
