The model is set up to readily incorporate historical data, near-term forward data, and actual ISO data, which facilitates backcasting, calibration, and validation of the model. We have been able to achieve more accurate backcast simulations of actual market conditions than we have seen with other models. In addition, after being designed initially to perform short-term simulations, Dayzer is now set up to perform long-term simulations based on our assumptions on future market fundamentals.
In our project experience with Dayzer, we have found the customer service to be outstanding. Assef Zobian, the founder, has deep and broad knowledge of ISO rules and operations, electricity economics, and the details of the physical transmission system in many regions of the U.S. His staff has also been very responsive on the many occasions when we have requested assistance with data, improvements to algorithms, and the development of special features for processing model inputs and outputs.
